First Images from Half Man: The Latest Work by Baby Reindeer Creator

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Richard Gadd has unveiled the first images from his new series for HBO and the BBC, titled Half Man. This marks Gadd’s first series since the hit Netflix miniseries Baby Reindeer, with filming recently completed in Scotland.

In the released stills, Gadd—showing a more muscular physique—appears alongside Jamie Bell, known for All of Us Strangers and Rocketman. Half Man follows two brothers, Ruben and Niall, who reunite after years of estrangement to confront unresolved conflicts from their past. The series traces the brothers from the turbulence of their teenage years through the bitter separation of adulthood, capturing every moment—good, bad, terrifying, absurd, violent, and painful—in pursuit of the deeper meaning of manhood.

The cast also includes Niamh McIntosh (Chemistry of Death) as Laurie, Niall’s mother, and Mirren MacIver (The Nest) as Moira, Ruben’s mother, alongside Charlie de Melo (Rivals), Bilal Hasna (The Agency), Julie Cullen (Traces), Amy Manson (The Nevers), Philippine Velge (The Serpent Queen), Stuart McQuarrie (The Rig), Piers O’Hare (The Primrose Railway), Scott Greenan (T2 Trainspotting), Charlotte Bellwood, and newcomer Calum Munchip.

Gadd serves as creator, writer, and executive producer of Half Man for HBO and the BBC. The series is directed by Alexandra Brodski (Somewhere Boy) and Ashraf Rebrock (Ferry: The Series, Cheyenne & Lola).

Half Man will premiere next year on the BBC in the UK, and on HBO Max in the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
